Falling rain

Heather Lydia Thornhill 1981 (Manchester)

As the dusk passes
And the light becomes fine
Your eyes linger too long in mine
Our words flow in streams
Built eternally
Would that you
Were in love with me
Your skin turns to gold
Passing moments of time
A feeling I felt
Etchings of the devine
Every pierce of your lips
Every stroke of your eyes
Gently sips from my heart
With each breath I sigh
And it tares at my soul
That you do not feel whole
As the falling rain
Takes its daily toll
And your weakened hands
Lay in mine
And we stay the course
Of each trail and finish line
