The element of verse

Before the sunlight meets my eyes
When all my sleep is done
And all the birds are yet to cry
Their weeping ever strong
I think: I know a perfect song
Despite its broken wings
As all the words do come to me
Like the element of verse
One so glorious of heart
That I didn't learn a word
Only the broken sound I found
That I wish I'd never heard
For then I could hear each anew
And as I do I would think of you
You are light soft as the moon
Your company so quaint
That none can rival your sweet love
Which moves me without complaint
Every time I tell you so
I can't describe the serene glow
It is as if my eyes had never seen
This ancient earth and all that it means
