The Edge of Freedom

We are lead by words
Our thoughts altered
We are made to believe
That what we do is right
We are a mass
Not !
Individuals
We are told we are free
We are given rights
We must live by rules
We must work to survive
But.......
We are free
We must pay for our bills
We must pay for our lives
We must pay for our children
We pay for our wives
We pay for war
and the weapons we use
We pay for death with our lives
But.......
We are free
A number to them is all that we are
We can sell our bodies both inside and out
To pay our way along freedoms route
But.......
We are free
If we are sick and terminal and ask to die
We won't pull the plug
Your freedom we deny
But yet.......
We are free
Your free to do whatever you may choose
But if you can't pay
Your freedom you lose
But yet.......
We are free
To live, love and pay
And to ultimately enjoy
Freedom's decay
