Smile

Beverly Bergman 1979 (Canada)

I am trapped
Someone please help

I feel like a rat
A rat in a maze

A maze of dead ends
No way out

Someone please save me
Before I go insane

No one to talk to
No way to scream

I just sit here in silence
Alone in the darkness

I wonder will anyone notice
Can anyone see

Will they find the light switch
Switch it on

Release me from this cold place
Allow me to see

Fill my dead heart with hope
Let me feel again

But I’ll just sit here quiet and sob
Carry on numb and tired

That is wha the expect
So Smile
