The LORD Delivered
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
The eyes of the Lord see the meek,
His ears have been hearing their cry;
Upon the righteous that do seek,
The distress that comes from their sigh.
The face of the Lord hates evil,
To cut the memory of them;
It is the work of the devil,
That He desires to condemn.
When the righteous cry in distress,
The Lord hears and delivers those;
Who has been trying to oppress,
And terminate the wicked foes.
The Lord is near the broken heart,
And saves the defeated spirit;
Reviving it for a new start,
Through thoughts of the mind and merit.
Most afflictions of the righteous,
The Lord delivers from them all;
Enemies will be served justice,
In the lake of fire, they fall.
He is keeping all of His bones,
Not one of them will be broken;
After confession, He atones,
With the blessings that are spoken.
Affliction will slay the wicked,
Because of their hate, God will condemn;
Since they will become convicted,
The lake of fire He casts them.
The Lord is redeeming the soul,
As well as redeeming the life;
And His Spirit will take control,
While combatting any strife.
