My Mind

My mind is unemployed.
Agony disturbs the transmission
in my mind that goes on within my head.
My thoughts need consolation.
Inside I'm lost, and within I'm with without.
My thoughts travel through my mind like
neurons traveling from one sensory
motor  to another.
Plants and flowers need water and sunshine
in order for them to blossom, so do I.
As plants and flowers need water and
sunshine, I need healing as food.
Healing ceased when my mind became unemployed.
Suppression of the agony in my mind should
soon begin--sooner the suppression begins,
sooner my mind becomes employed in the right state of mind.

About this poem

As a Psychology major, I am always intrigued with how the mind functions. I am aware that people constantly have a lot going on in their minds, and they get to the point where confusion enters it (mind) with force. In writing this poem, I came to the conclusion that perplexity in the mind results in pain. I believe that when agony disturbs the transmission in one's head, one cannot function well. So, in order for one to function well, one has to rearrange his or her thoughts accordingly. By rearranging our thoughts, we can learn to overpower the pain.
