Sweet little Siobhan

Sweet little Siobhan  - Hilton Thomas

For a long time, there was a sigh.
For even longer, there was this earnest crave.
And lately, there was a very audible prayer by all.
We needed a girly girl amongst the three boys.

Okay, there was no prescription to the Lord.
neither was anyone put under pressure to bring her.
And don’t get me wrong, I beg.
The three little men really filled our lives.

Though in the end, there is this wish to fulfil.
For like any grandmother loves to have grandsons
Most grandfathers also expect to have granddaughters.
Making grandma argue: I also want a girl to hold.

And then you came:
Siobhan – the Lord is gracious
Azania – because the Lord has heard
Neethling – us who are in need.

So, fare thee well, our fair granddaughter.
Live fuller than we could ever dream of.
Reach higher heights then we could ever perceive
And may all the world cover you in love.
