Depression
Depression
Depression is a constant downpour
Rain falling everyday and night
Drenching my sunshine
In continuous darkness
A wet blanket or burden
Permeating weight
So insidious
I struggle to lift my eyes
Pain plummets me
Into a cycle of sadness
And joy aches to be free.
My journey abides with melancholy
A sinister shadow in black
Loneliness so deafening
Music dissolves
Disappearing
Between good intentions
And powerless words
By people who mean well
And do not understand
I feel myself sink
Within the cracks
And I tire towards sleep.
Is there a place where this goes away?
Could there be a cure for this?
As I wander in the crowd
No one knows or cares
I am a hollow shell
Cracked beyond repair
Eager to be lifted
Praying for wings
So I may fly to you
My love of life
Where my mind and soul
Breathe fresh air again and smile.
