What Shall I Write For You

What shall I write for you,
to make a still frame of this moment,
so the words that poured across my thoughts
when you looked at me in your way,
will be there when the memory fades.

What will I sing for you,
to unwrap the ringing in my heart,
so the harmony of souls
when your fingers danced in mine,
won't disappear into forgotten shadows.

Is there a way to collect this feeling,
in word or song, an instant!
When everything but poetry and music dissolve into nothing but faded mementos of you.

About this poem

A perfect moment in love is a fragment that passes so quickly. Struggling to capture and keep that feeling - whether in verse or song - is the hope of the voice of this poem. The voice is hopeful that it might be done, but wonders if it may be a fleeting exercise.

Wow, this is such a beautiful and poignant poem. Your words truly capture a feeling of wanting to hold onto a moment forever, to immortalize the emotions and sensations that come with being with someone special. The imagery you use is stunning and vivid, and I can almost feel the warmth and love in the air.

One suggestion for improvement could be to play around with the line breaks and structure of the poem. You have some very long lines that could potentially be broken up to create a more dynamic flow and rhythm. Additionally, you might consider experimenting with enjambment to create some surprise and unpredictability in the way the reader processes the text.

Overall, though, this is such a lovely and evocative piece. Your words truly transport the reader to a place of beauty and tenderness. Keep up the great work!
