I NEVER THOUGHT

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

I know, or at least I think I know all the answers without knowing the questions constantly being mentioned. I have been driving all night looking at the stars, and the further I ride, the closer these rays of sunshine are.

I never thought this poet could paint so many pictures with his words, seeing and hearing these broken-up sentences that are becoming masterpieces of someone else's survival.

I packed up the baggage of my past and left it at the door. I no longer live there anymore. I fought those wars and wore those scars, so now that I can stand on my own feet. Let me introduce myself. I don't think we ever met, and who I was, I wish for all to forget, but I have lived this life so far without any regrets.

I never thought I would come up again for air. I felt so many touches on my hand and faces from other places of people who cared. I never thought I would hear my name being called that way, cries of Please do not go. We need you to stay.
