I Had A Dream
"I Had A Dream"
By Ryan Vaughn Diezel Nivins
I had a dream…
As I lay on the couch in a deep sleep..
My mind resets itself for the next day and in between…
I had a dream…
It was vivid and full of imagery..
When I woke it kept me still so I could feel it's memory..
I had a dream…
What was it about you ask?
To describe it is immersing you in serenity…
I had a dream…
In it I'm happy…
Rudy and Oreo playing in the hallway…
Wifey in the bedroom laughing all day…
Our aura's connected and true blue…
I'm dancing to random songs on YouTube playing on the boob tube in the front room..
While I clean my shoes and strings..
I had a dream…
Things were the way they used to be…
I had a dream…
It was a beautiful piece of the lucid me…
I had a dream…
For once it wasn't lustful sins disguised as spiritual wives…
I cancel demons in the name of Jesus tryna ruin me…
D'evils can't divide unity…
I had a dream…
During beauty sleep…
It woke me up to goons and geeks…
And ugliness in the world I'm used to seeing…
Yet and still I had a dream…
Where we didn't forget we're human beings…
My reality owns up to truth I speak…
I had a dream…
Where it was nothing but smiles…
We soak in the sun running country miles…
Taking care of our bodies wit cunning styles…
I had a dream…
Free of drugs & clowns firing slugs in crowds…
MLK gave a speech on the balcony and they didn't gun him down…
I had a dream…
full of lovely sounds we must hear and feel while we're above the ground…
I had a dream…
That my poetry in motion remains profound and robust...
I Had A Dream...
That we learn to love ourselves the same way God loves us.

About this poem
This poem is a deep inner reflection I visualized in a sleep state that I worked hard to convey into words. It has a blend of truth and abstract reality with relatable content. I hope every reader takes a piece of it with them in some form or fashion. Blessings.
