The Devil

Your words shot out like a bullet from the gun. Already wrapped in the fibers of my brain, no chance to run. I no longer had fun. For 8 years I was told how to dress, talk, act. How much makeup , no earring holes, eat no pork, hush your cussing. To the devil I done sold my soul. I was threatened constantly, told alot of different stuff. Woman should be seen and not heard, Its cheaper to keep her he would say, but made sure he cashed my checks every friday. He would take out other things in my car, left me alone for hours on end, pushed me down the stairs, even told me dont cut your hair! Tied me up. choked me, just alot of cruel stuff. Told me more then once hed kill me. Finally could take no more so I left and called his bluff. But did I? He had sunk his claws into my child, and the pain ill endure for teh next 18 years will be a nything but mild. I held on for as long as I could , but for years you spewed your venon all over her, just like I knew you would and made it as if "I never were".
