Unsheltered
Unsheltered
Often missed
Living on the streets
Often dismissed
Seeking for peace.
Often mistreated
Misguided
Their cries for help
Often excluded,
Craving some grace.
I weep, for I knew
I was once someone
Who slept under the rain
Wishing for a cozy blanket
To cover my pain.
Let’s not turn a blind eye
Let’s hold their hands
And raise their souls high.
They are humans,
With precious hearts
We shouldn’t judge,
For they, too, have some scars.
About this poem
One of the many issues around the world is homelessness. I started to bring my daughters to the streets and provided foods for the homeless. They were so emotional as they witnessed how hard it has been to live in the streets.
