Beneath The Surface

Like the lake,
She appeared calm
And peaceful on the surface,
Her waters still as glass.
But below, chaos brewed,
A war between fishes,
Each devouring the other,
Desperate to survive
In the depths of her soul.

She wore a smile, serene,
