At Your Table”
“At Your Table”
When it’s time
to leave the table,
the familiar one
you know…
You’ll find another
place to sit,
another place to go
Where living comes
much easier
with the passing
of the hours
Every day
a fresh bouquet
of fragrant
garden flowers
Where all things
cracked
are whole again,
filled
with everlasting light
Peace and love
abiding,
will warm you
and delight
People whom
you’ve longed to see
will be waiting
for you there,
sitting at your table
that they’ve
lovingly prepared
About this poem
I wrote this poem to help assuage the fears many of us have about death and dying. Influenced by years of hospice work, I believe we will be reunited with loved ones lost, who wait for us in a beautiful, spiritual realm.
