They Loved In 2075

They Loved in 2075

Then we would go everywhere,
Here, there, to finally rest at a place called somewhere,
Which lies just beyond the corner called everywhere,
Come my darling Irma let us go there,
And translate our every heart beat into a prayer,
Let us seek refuge inside an oyster and be lost in its silence somewhere,
Then let us travel from our sleep into a beautiful dream somewhere,
And then let us reside inside the beautiful reality that shall be now everywhere,
Let us bathe in the eternal sunlight my darling dear,
And then let us fuse into one love light somewhere,
And spread everywhere,
Here, there, far and near,
Just you and me together and forever everywhere.

About this poem

This poem envisages a scene from 2075 where two lovers want to seek refuge inside the feeling of love. And the poem portrays their desperation to find a place where love still exists in 2075, and is considered to be one of the most pure and native human feelings, worth experiencing. It draws inspiration from the science fiction novel, They Loved in 2075.

I have been writing poems for several years now. And my passion for poetry goes back to my school days, when I encountered Wordsworth's famous poem Daffodils, and I instantly fell in love with it, and the poet in me woke up. Since then I have been experiencing a wakeful poetic bliss! more…
