Triumphant Christ
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Thanks be to God, who in Christ,
Leads a prideful procession;
And why He was sacrificed,
Acknowledged through confession.
We are the fragrance of Christ,
Among those who have been saved;
The perished have been enticed,
Because of sin had enslaved.
To one, the odor of death,
For you, a fragrance of life;
Living with heavenly breath,
Blocking the toils and strife.
Who is sufficient for things,
That is not found on this earth;
The good our Savior brings,
Blessing you upon your birth.
We are not like so many,
Which corrupt the Word of God;
Being sincere as any,
Never declared as a fraud.
