The Vitalizing Spirit
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
No condemnation if in Christ,
When in the flesh no longer walk;
The Holy Spirit has enticed,
When in the manner that you talk.
For Laws of the Spirit of Life,
Has set you free from sin and death;
Temptations may be causing strife,
But you have life after last breath.
The righteous demand of the Law,
Might be fulfilled by the Spirit;
Faith and confession of a flaw,
And performing righteous merit.
For the flesh remains in the heart,
And if flesh remains in your mind;
The Holy Spirit will depart,
Access to Heaven is denied.
A carnal mind ensures your death,
But the spiritual mind is peace;
And His Spirit gives you new breath,
And all hostilities will cease.
For flesh is hostile to the Lord,
And submits not unto God’s Law;
Because God is being ignored,
And eventually, will fall.
Those in the flesh cannot please God,
They are controlled by the devil;
Pleasing Satan praising and laud,
And performing works of evil.
