Khet
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
The Lord always my portion,
I promise to keep His Word;
Though Satan tries distortion,
To deceive what I have heard.
He treats favor in my heart,
Gracious to me with justice;
As His lips my lips impart,
To be true is my promise.
When I think about my way,
I turn my feet to His Word;
So I do not go astray,
Enticed my mind has been stirred.
I hasten to not delay,
For keeping His commandments;
So I can trust and obey,
To avoid any judgments.
Though the wicked ensnare me,
I will not forget His Law;
Patiently I wait and see,
So I do not get a flaw.
At midnight I rise to praise,
Because of your righteous rules;
Thanking Him for having good days,
And thwarting all of the fools.
I am a comrade to all,
Who is keeping His precepts;
And catching them when they fall,
As they follow His concepts.
The earth is full of His love,
Steadfast in mercy and grace;
Taught by statutes from above,
Comforting with His embrace.
