I thought I knew
I knew who you were
I knew what you could do
I knew that loving you was going to make or break me
I knew you
Or so i thought
I thought i knew you
I thought i loved you
And I thought you loved me..
But you didn't
You didn't love me
You didn't want me
You wanted to own me
Have someone you could use as a toy,
A plaything
A distraction
A cover up
You wanted someone that loved you so that you could destroy them
Destroy me
Me, the one who gave you everything
The one who stayed and listened to every breakdown
The one who wiped the tears off your face and told you it would be ok
Just for you to turn around and blame me
Blame me for the reason your crying
I took the blows
I took the harsh words, i even took the blame
I took the blame for every damn thing
And not once did i leave
You broke me, beyond repair
And i still stayed through it all
I now know that you never loved me
And while you learned to hate me
I learned to hate myself too.
