Righteous Faith
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Never say within your heart,
Who will ascend to Heaven;
Faith speaks wisely to impart,
For what the Lord has given.
God brought down Christ from above,
Who had risen from the dead;
From the deep, He sent His love,
So we are righteously fed.
For the Word is always near,
In your mouth and in your heart;
Proclaim your faith to revere,
On a new day when you start.
Confess that Jesus is Lord,
And believe it in your heart;
You can walk in one accord,
Then Satan can never thwart.
Because you will have been saved,
For with your heart, you believe;
No longer sin has enslaved,
Salvation you did receive.
For everyone who believes,
Will never be put to shame;
The thought in one mind conceives,
As His Spirit lights your flame.
The same for both Jews and Greek,
For the Lord is Lord of all;
His riches to all who seek,
That is confessing their call.
Everyone who calls His name,
And confesses will be saved;
No longer shy to proclaim,
Will no longer be depraved.
