Exile Wears A Smile
Exile Wears A Smile
Exile wears a smile
When hope holds its hand
The possible is a choice
Born when our mind
Determines to manifest the dream
We desire to come true
A whole new world
We want to live in.
I lost so much in short order
When the dark storm
Greedily consumed
My possessions
My pets and my home
Taken from my life
Prompting my departure
Embracing uncertainty.
The future is inevitability
I move towards when I wake
Breathing validates
I am still relevant
And breakfast is a blessing
The day ahead says
Time is a precious gift
There’s no moment to lose
No matter the weather.
Sweat is necessary
When you wish to achieve
Something worthwhile
The benefit you seek
Starts with yourself
Ripples outward to others
Your time in exile will end
On a path going forward
Looking ahead starting now.
