Toxicity

I saw the light, out of the corner of my eye, you burned me.
You lit me with flames, it destroyed me.
Do you not have sense or any care?
If you loved me, you’d be here.
But you don’t dare, to rise above me.
You just sneak away, to judge me.
It was so perfectly divine, how you took me out of time and space.
You re-arranged the tall glass case.
To only show your envy.
You took them on a journey.
To count the ways I love you in all these different shades.
It’s never fair, to be locked up in despair.
Did you have to throw away the key?
I still pretend that I’m happy, and you never tempted me.
Cause love is all about the suffering, the hourglass, we count to three.
They only bully so we don’t leave.
This toxic love that’s hoping you believe, there is no cure to this disease.
You can’t escape it, once it has its claws in your back.
You can run but it’s faster and it attacks.
With fire breath and sharpened nails.
Just lay down, roll until the smoke comes through your lungs and you choke out the seeds.
The toxicity has been growing like weeds, since you opened up your scars.
And the only way to kill it is to blacken your heart, and fight mean.
That’s the only way you will ever be free.
