Whispers of love in the Realm of Friendship
Abel Chauque 2005 (Rustenburg)
In realms where friendship's glow and tendrils twine,
Where souls alight, fates interweave and blend,
A tale unfolds where love's embrace is kind,
Yet an aching longing muddles where it ends.
A boy, he walks a path diverged in two,
Emerging feelings stir within his core,
A dance of platonic hues and love's soft hue,
Confusion swirls like waves upon the shore.
She, a visitor amidst his world,
A kinship formed through conversations deep,
Her numbers stored, a connection unfurled,
Their bond a secret treasure they both keep.
But in this union blooms a new desire,
Romantic whispers, like a fragile flame,
His heart entangled, caught within the mire,
To her, he's drawn, and cannot lay the blame.
Asexual, he knows his love is rare,
For intimacy takes a different form,
Yet yearning sparks, a longing to declare,
While keeping safe the friendship they've adorned.
Each moment shared, he searches for a sign,
A flicker in her eyes, a subtle glance,
Does she, too, feel that spark begin to shine,
Or must he keep his feelings in a trance?
Oh, conflicted heart, tread both paths with care,
Embrace the friendship, cherish what is pure,
And if true love awakens, be aware,
That some bonds flourish when love's less obscure.
About this poem
'Dual Paths of the Heart' tell this tale, Of love and friendship, weaving side by side, Let time unfold, let whispers breathe and sail, And trust the journey where their hopes reside. For friendship's grace and love's sweet melody, Can harmonize, entwined eternally.
