Himself changing
The sun nourished his deep black skin and drowned him in light.
He walked through the city followed by people shouting at him through car windows and pedestrian eyes staring into his tall soul.
He carried a hugh gift for his mother into his yellow taxi and drove away at a slow speed.
The skull ribbons in his hair matched his black and white bubble jacket.
His dog and dark skinned kid ran towards him as he pulled the gift out of his freshly bumped taxi.
His mother opened the gift and it was a giant nativity covered in his addition of hay and a neon green light up star.
He went to the bathroom and brushed his eyebrows with mascara because his aging white hairs were starting to bother him and his kid had questioned his race for the first time while they decorated the tree.
He hadn't been able to surprise him on Army leave properly because he was on the toilet when he came home from grandma's so the day hadn't played out as memorably as he had expected.
