MY DESIRE

mad hippie poet 1974 (new jersey)

Looking and searching for that one damn thing that sets my soul on fire and feeds both my stomach and my mouth, I have been a thief and liar, never  knowing life, only the desire, and that had me hungry wanting more of what they said I should be afraid to ask for

I keep opening and closing my eyes, finding myself somewhere and everywhere that I belong; sometimes my stays are short, sometimes they are long, sometimes the bar maidens sing me a song with hidden answers, but they ain't no dancers.

With every breath, I take another move, searching for the riches and gold of my story unfolding, waiting to be told, not unknowingly knowing where I must take my first and last step. It will be a long winter walking in these cement shoes that hold my clues.

Looking and searching for the man I am supposed to be every day is getting better with another version of me, and these are those exact visions that feed my desire for this life of mine that I am finding out.
