Sunset at the Beach

Looking out into the sky,
As the sun descends from high,
And the day starts to wind down,
As does most of the fair town,
Nothing else concerns my eye,
Than the rays of light that dye
The world that’s all around me
And reflect off of the sea.

Gold and red pigments, thereby,
Across the horizon fly,
Painting the azure canvas,
In all of its wide vastness,
With bright hues that mystify,
As on the horizon lie
Pink clouds and a ball of fire:
A pleasant scene to admire.

As undersea the sun and its rays fall,
And darkness is set where light had once been,
There’s no sense of grief because, after all,
Nothing can stop the sun rising again.
