The Tears of a Christmas Tree

There was a lonely Christmas tree
Who had no friends at all.
You might just ask how could that be
With many here this Fall?

Each year before this Autumn day,
This little tree had seen
The trees cut down and dragged away
 With fullness oh so green!

It scared him when he saw them cut
And wondered where they went.
But no tree ever told him what
They'd be or what that meant.

He did not want to worry more;
Control was never his.
And so, upon his face he wore
A smile for all the kids.

In late Autumn a family came;
The children saw him smile.
And so, the parents laid their claim
Then took him home in style.

It was not long before the tree
Was put into a stand,
Then trimmed with beauty he could see;
The Christmas tree they planned!
