The Day in the Lord
Richard Newton Sherrer 1951 (Easton)
Concerning the time and season,
No need to have written to you;
Knowing Jesus is the reason,
And that the Gospel has been true.
Because you are fully aware,
He comes like a thief in the night;
And that the heathens should beware,
About His power and His might.
There will be peace and security,
But then comes sudden destruction;
Labor pains for impurity,
No escape from the obstruction.
But you are not in the darkness,
You, like a thief to be surprised;
Because of you having starkness,
In His Spirit being baptized.
For you are all children of light,
By being children of the day;
Not the darkness of the night,
Because you trust God and obey.
