Ambrosia
Edwin Tanguma 1966 (CA)
Ambrosia
I suckled on the nectar
Which exuded from her lips
To me it was ambrosia
Running down my finger tips
‘‘Twas finer than any wine
From any fruit of the vine
And I could hardly believe
That this goddess was all mine
How can one express with words
Such a delectable taste
As a maiden who is fair
Gentle delicate and chaste
Edwin Tanguma Aka Dagesh As IF it were yesterday
About this poem
It’s not everyday that a poet reveals his or her innermost thought process…There are many who may perceive this one to be about a sensual sexual experience…Well…There are some things that bring more pleasure to one than just sex…I wrote this one about a certain poetess who held me captivated and mesmerized through her songs…the nectar…Lips her voice…ambrosia the poems I wrote to her in response…fingertips my pen writing…second stanza reaffirming first stanza…As for the third stanza…Use your own creativity…Is there really a major difference between that and which???It’s not everyday a magician reveals his secrets…
