Life

Lifing 1980 (New Orleans)

November 23

He can’t see
He’s seeing things that his natural eyes
normally don’t see
She dying or is she flying high
Man this feels good, almost to good
Is it the sky blue she chases with the absolute
Or the chronic she smoked while sipping
On grey goose
His heart is beating fast
Can this be the end for him
Can this reaction be from the cocaine that
Just entered in or from the cough medicine she
Rolled her marijuana in so gently
Is it from the gasoline, he intentionally inhales
For almost an hour or from the permanent marker
She sniffed until it turned blue
I CAN’T BREATH
WHAT’S HAPPENING
WHAT’S GOING ON WITH ME
Maybe it’s the unprotected sex she has so frequently
He feels something crawling on him
She can’t move
Please someone help me
This was my very first time trying some of these things
I really can’t explain the inexperienced things
That my body right now maintains
God if you allow me to wake from this
I promise you
I promise myself
I will not try anything else new
That’s not beneficial to my health

About this poem

Bad decisions people make on a regular basis. Sometimes, it only take 1 time, and your life than begins to spiral out of control. Change is possible before they succumb to their habits p, but for many, it’s to late.
