Sticky Sweet Honey

brown eyes are so boring
so many say

there’s ocean and emerald
gray
and ice blue
what about brown?

in late autumn it’s beautiful
dark chocolate, hazelnut and gingerbread too
the first sip of warm coffee
and when the sun hits them it feel like
“oy muy rico”
whiskey and honey
with specks of cinnamon too

the intoxication is sweet
as it rolls off your tongue

i stare at your eyes
and you say they’re common
but so is the rain
sunsets and sunrise
laughter and love

isn’t it funny
all the best colors come together
to form a pool of

Sticky Sweet Honey

i can’t seem to get out of it
as my lips grace yours
and you tell me you’ve always loved the dark in my eyes
cause it just taste so good
with the chocolate in
yours.

About this poem

I wrote this "love love" poem because i love brown eyes. This poem is dedicated an "ode to those with brown eyes" and i love reading it at open mics and slams.
