Closer
Robert loughran 1962 (Ireland)
Come closer, settle in,
lets not be me, lets not be you,
let go of all ambitions,
allow it all to fall away,
lets lose our inhibitions.
Let us be together aimless,
stop making any plan,
lose our identity ,
just a melted form,
not a woman and not a man.
a we fallen together softly,
nothing to add or remove,
no drive to make things happen,
just allow passion to find its groove
When even hearts find agreement
and beat in mutual time,
and breath becomes a shared resource,
my in is yours, your out is mine.
When our skins become a border breached,
and we become a single race.
Then the heaven of true union,
has found in us its place.
About this poem
About intimacy and how we are divided.
