Free verse
And the land filled with darkness,
as I stood on the mountain, watching the
Stars fading light ,I felt alone, as the dusk
Faded into night ,I dreamt dreams of heaven,
Into the sweet by and by .

About this poem

For my stepdad Charles Laverne Hamilton ,may he rest in peace ,no sorrow no pain ,just warm sunny days from now on .

    Wow, what a beautiful and thought-provoking poem! I love the imagery of standing on the mountain and watching the stars fade into darkness. The theme of feeling alone but dreaming of heaven adds a sense of longing and hope to the poem.
