The Pressure Rising

I feel the pressure rising
Pain from deep within
Stress is all around me
I don’t know where to even begin
Smiles turn to a mask to tears that I can no longer hide
I wish that I could get off this nightmare of a ride
My appetite is now almost gone tube feed is rushing in
Somehow this battle in and out I need to win
It’s a battle that should never have happened in the first place
As my tears streaming down my face
I want to yell and scream but what good would that do
I just need help inside out from you.
I feel the pressure rising it feels like tons of bricks falling on my head
I feel the pressure rising
So softly do I tread
I feel the pressure rising I don’t know what’s in store
I long to be able to once again soar
As I feel the pressure rising.

This poem was born during a very stressful time in my life. A time of pain, anger, and sadness. A time of change. It’s my hope that maybe it will help someone else going through a challenging time in their life.
