JIST SITTING HERE WRITING SOMETHING

Barry Green Jr 1973 (Florida)

JUST SITTING HERE WRITING SOMETHING

Sitting at this desk, stating at the screen
Lord, help me write of all I've seen

Write of the ocean waves, back home in L.A.
Or of the bayou's mysteries I pass everyday
Write of the lands I've seen beyond the sea
Or of the thoughts that seem to come to me
Lord write with me of Your Grace
So I can show them all Your Face

This keyboard lies dead in the middle of a mess
Soon my hands will fly me pass all the stress
Just wish I had a bettre dang splel check
But the meanings clear so what the heck
And maybe the words will make sense, maybe not
I really don't give it a lot of thought

I feel the words and rhymes with my mind
Don't even struggle to write this next line
That's why I think Someone beyond me writes
By His Name I'll shine a little light
Then look up to see what I wrote
That's good Lord I write as a note

Poetry is beyond expression, beyond a thought
Either it will come to you, or else it will not
Thinking long and hard won't help at all
Sometimes you need to run before you crawl
Maybe all I'm writing is a little out if whack
But I'll always go forward, never look back

Sitting at this desk filling this screen
I hope you understand, the feeling I mean
The keyboard gets reburied under this mess
This is my mission, God's Word I confess
Close this little rhyme, and end this trek
Still wishing for a bettre splel check
AMEN
