PRAISE IS MY LAST SOUND
Barry Green Jr 1973 (Florida)
PRAISE IS MY LAST SOUND
I heard you say you called me by name
Before the foundation of earth You knew
Now as I'm lost in the world's mocking Game
I want to stop, I want to pause, to praise You
I'll praise you in the morning, as the day begun
Praise You as the stress presses in from around
I'll praise you in the evenings last kiss of the sun
And as I lay down, my praise is my last sound
You loved me as you came here to earth
You loved me as you showed us Your face
You taught us that we need a new birth
We can only find in Your Holy Grace
.I know you thought of even me
At the moment of deepest anguish
Their in the pain of Gethsemane
You Paid the Price so I'd not Perish
So …
I'll praise you in the morning, as the day begun
Praise You as the stress presses in from around
I'll praise you in the evenings last kiss of the sun
And as I lay down, my praise is my last sound
I read that in ages past, David danced in praise
I read Israel, brought Jericho down with a shout!
The enemy trembles when Israel shouts in praise
Jesus said if they were silent, rocks will shout out
In the ages since, praise rocked the prison doors
The saints praised you in the arena and the fire
They've sung of Your glory like angels did before
"Holy, Holy, Holy we lift you ever higher!"
So…
I'll praise you in the morning, as the day begun
Praise You as the stress presses in from around
I'll praise you in the evenings last kiss of the sun
And as I lay down, my praise is my last sound
I praise You Lord, with all my heart and soul
For all You've done in the battles of Life
I Love You Jesus, your Love I will show
Every day, every way, in peace and in strife
AMEN
About this poem
Yet you are enthroned as the Holy One; you are the one Israel praises. In you our ancestors put their trust; they trusted and you delivered them. To you they cried out and were saved; in you they trusted and were not put to shame. Psalm 22:3-5
