The Many Poor

Steve Cochrane 1955 (Cape)

The village man does all he can
To pay his monthly bills,
But he has been so deep within
The poor life of no frills.

His daughter May spends every day
Where poverty can grow,
When bills get worse; a frequent curse
Too many come to know!

Please don't ignore the many poor,
They are like you and me
With hope and pain; what will remain?
What will their future be?
