WHEN THE FIRE STARTS TO BURN

Barry Green Jr 1973 (Florida)

WHEN THE FIRE STARTS TO BURN

You've run for so long
Somehow you're always wrong
Where ya gonna turn
When the fire starts to burn?.

You've fallen the long fall
In it for the long haul
Gonna reach the other end
But can't see around the bend
Hear the Voice in the breeze
Heed the Call in the trees
'Cause its too late to learn
When the fire starts to burn

The way is long, the road is steep
Can't stop; won't ever sleep
See the smoke up in the hills
The only cure for all our ills
Hear the Voice that forgives
See the Savior who always lives
Touch the Hand for which you'll yearn
When the fire starts to burn

Turn around and face the past
Or run ahead and feel the blast
Of the heat of a raging fire
The flames are rising ever higher
Through the ash See the face
Of the Holy Risen Grace
We'll never have to earn
When the fire starts to burn

Burning deep in our soul
Turning to steal the show
All of our hopes made real
The God of Chosen Israel
Chose now;reach out
Push aside all doubt
Doncha know it's too late to learn
When the fire starts to burn

You're never gonna learn
'Till the fire starts to burn
AMEN
