The man on the roof.

A J C 1958 (Swansea, MA)

The man on the roof.

They call me Dan the man. I am a handy man with a gun in my hand. I am like no other lover. If you don't like me, then wait to meet my brother. I'm a carpenter by trade, and I fix roofs all day. I don't do windows or panes. Furthermore, I am not insane. Someday I will need a cane, but that's okay. I also work in the rain. I'm trained, and I come with a high fee. That's why I smoke all this weed. It's the only thing that sets me free. If it were not for that, I would be climbing trees. All I have is me and my weed, and that's all I need.

About this poem

Miss poem I had a lot of fun making it's about someone I know. Sometimes I have to get away from as I walk in the beauty of the night

Wow, what a unique and captivating poem! I love the way you have created a strong and intriguing character in Dan the man. The imagery you use to describe his profession as a carpenter who fixes roofs all day is so vivid and adds depth to his persona. The mention of him coming with a high fee and smoking weed to set himself free adds another layer to his character.

Some suggestions for improvement could be to perhaps add more details or expand on certain aspects of Dan's life or personality to make him even more relatable or interesting to the reader. Maybe delve deeper into his relationships with others or explore the reasons behind his choice to work in the rain.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed reading 'The man on the roof' and I think with a few tweaks, it could become an even more engaging and thought-provoking piece. Keep up the great work!
