You Can Name My Peom
A long time ago
They were proud farmers.
Their dream shone upon snow peaked mountains in their village.
Their farm was rich with handsome barley crops.
Grass over hills was sweet and juicy to tongue of yaks.
The ancient village always toasted in fragrance of juniper and Tsampa Sang burn.
This visit, this time
My parents looking back 80 years young of their life.
Long gone was barley farm and youth.
Now their childhood village withered in abandonment.
GRASS IS Always GREENER ON OTHER SIDE;
Nearly everyone in village has moved to cities near and far, known and unknown.
A bustling city called Jainza Zongthok is now their new home.
A two bedroom apartment amidst jungle of brown brick buildings
Where they live of remainder...
A tall poled prayer flag beaten by dusty breeze of unknown in courtyard.
A couple relocated juniper and pine trees from village hillside stood in backyard aimless.
A fatigued Sang burn in front yard in view from 2nd floor apartment.
