My Man and the Sea.

A J C 1958 (Swansea, MA)

My Man and the Sea.

She sits on the rocks. The ocean is quiet, deep, and alone. I wish in my heart that my man would come home. The waves whisper to me, and the soft sands of the sea sweep over my feet and surround where I stand. I need my man. He has weathered beaten hands and face from a lifetime of toil on the waters. But he respects the sea, which has taken many souls; that's why I love him so much. Here, in the cold breeze by the sea, I wait for my man to come back to me.
