Since I’ve gone,
you have
done nothing.

Nothing through
the letterbox.

Why?

Have you stopped watching films,
or was it just
(in recent time)
a false contact point
for us to connect?

For us to re-begin..?

I don’t need a website,
or a falsehood
of literary contritions
and best-intentioned
“off” submissions
to feel
even
slightly
close.

A vex.

But not worried.

Or concerned by those original choices
in confusion,
irrationally chose(n).

I have discussed
with you both
the importance of TRUTH,
on many occasions,
and the absence of
youth -
like
OIL,
like
sound,
like the hardening
of hearts
as we
HAVE to admit
that
we will only ever
be together
in the far distant,
awful future -
never arriving,
and always
accompanied
by that
funeral sound.
