Braves Alphabet (1991)
A- Is for Atlanta where it all began, and for pitcher Avery, our
21-year-old man.
B- is for the Braves, the team that went so far. And the unsung
heroes,they became a star!
They're all my favorites on this Atlanta team. Little, big man
Belliard and first baseman Sid Bream
C- That's Bobby Cox. the skipper of them all. Charlie and Clancy
Throwing that mean ball.
D- is David Justice, showing us how it's done. Even missing third
base on that fatal run.
E- is for Excitement, we couldn't get enough.
F- is the Faithful Fan with tomahawking stuff.
G- are our Giants,Glavine,Gregg and Gant.
H- is Bryan Hunter, hot in baseball land.
I- is for Ironman, catcher Olson is his name.
J- is our John Smoltz, winning game after game.
K- pitcher Kent Mercker, hurling a fast ball.
L- is our man Lemke, a hero 10 feet tall.
M- pinchhitter Mitchell, helping out the team.
often with pinchhitting or running for Sid Bream.
N- is the Newspaper, stories about a Brave and a Twin,
and of all the bets on who is gonna win.
O- is for Omega, when the games came to an end.
P- Pendleton and Pena, they were heaven sent.
Q- is for a Quake, the Braves rocked baseball land
Homers and stealing bases, all with Ronnie Gant.
R- all those Referees, who are calling every shot.
S- St. Claire and Stanton, who are really hot.
And Lonnie Smith, he is the leading man.
T- is for terrific, for the Braves and every fan.
U- is for the Ulcers when our nerves are getting bad.
V- is for the Victory, the fans are wild and glad.
W- The World Series and Wohlers is in it too.
The Braves from last to first, they played for me and you.
X- See you next spring, it's over and well done.
Y- is the year, unforgettable nineteen ninety one
Z- is for Zest, Braves, we love each one of you
And we are looking forward to nineteen ninety two.
