Guilt

I keep going to that place of guilt
and feeling worse than bad,
thinking of the things I said
that I never should have.
What keeps me from the memories
that make me feel some good,
thinking of the things I did,
that others never would?
What keeps me from the good things
I know I did with heart?
I must like that place of guilt
that crumbles at my heart.
How can I like destruction?
Who taught me to live there
and ponder on the negative
that keeps me in despair?
