Just A Photograph Of The Nights We Used To Have
Was it the…look in her eyes?
Crooked sight...like she wanted to die
Cause' she's everything…I see in myself
And it looks like she doesn't need any help
Or was it the...coke in her veins
Sleeping pills…alcohol…and heroin
Cause' she's everything…I've ever dreamed
But it looks like…even angels…need to bleed
At the lonesome bar, below the bridge
For a minute…we were acting like…little kids
And it seems like we've…known each other for
…an eternity...and ever more
At her place, on a Friday night
Listening to Floyd and getting high all night
And as we waste, away our youth
We were already half past noon
As I chase...after her
All I can hear is the maniacal laughter
And as I wake, in her arms
I'm feeling safe...and free from harm
As I taste, her lips on mine
I thought that, my eyes would go blind
And as we fade, into the abyss
We couldn't help, for one last kiss
We laughed and we cried, over a glass of wine
Then we made love, for the very first time
It was rough and wild, and out of this world
That's when i knew, she was the girl
I stared straight...into her eyes
And i thought, at that moment, i could die
As the night turned...into day
We went our....separate ways
Cause I'm just a sinner...cold and cynical
Remembering...all the moments…whimsical
Winter came and winter went
And all my letters...went unsent
Disintegrate...all our...hopes and dreams
Cause' nothing is ever…what it seems
And in her place, just a photograph
Of the nights we used to have
