Letters
A word here and a word there,
Each has meaning for those who care,
You can sit and consider many things,
But there's music communication brings,
A simple letter is a work of art,
From one to another direct from the heart,
Thoughts and dreams to savour and read,
Yes a gem and a precious seed,
Opening an envelope what surprises in store,
Scan the page you want for more,
Once or twice it doesn't matter much,
It's correspondence to fondle and touch,
With your mind you follow each line,
Drink it in like well matured wine,
You have time to sit and ponder,
About the writer who lives down yonder,
There's no haste when turning the pages,
Mull them over and reflect for ages,
Live the moment and enjoy the thought,
Visualise the image that you have caught.
About this poem;-
After receiving a letter and casually reading it these thoughts
came to mind hence the poem.
