Mother

She gave up her dreams,
Worked too hard,
Vanity set aside,
Yet I see more beauty in her face
Than women with much pride.
She never put herself in front
But cared for others more.
Her heart must have bled at times
I know her back was sore.
I never heard her whimper,
Or cry with any pain.
She was too busy struggling
To let her problems reign.
I never knew her burdens.
She never let them show.
She kept her head held high
Where ever she would go.
I'm overwhelmed when I recall
Some things she has been through
Yet she shows no bitterness.
Her heart is much too true.
She is the world's best mother.
God's grace has made her so.
I will exalt my mother
Everywhere I go.
