Old and Deaf
An old man set in my way,
I tire at the thought of someone changing my ways,
like stone weathered by rain,
still present despite times uncontrollable rage,
a weary opponent of standard phrase,
I become sickened at the conformists of the day,
rebuttaling the impersonal traditions of the considerate,
I wonder when the subtle conversations will become intimate,
I am an old man set in my ways,
I can't even hear what you say.
