Remember the days
My childhood was good and not good
no lack of food, clothes what so ever
only the warm emotional level
was made of less importance
Words as I love you my child
and you are doing fine
were not rich in father's vocabulary
I sure have give it a try
I hungered for his approval
and the more I did my best
the opposite was what came to me
so I stopped trying that
I left home and lived my own life
we didn't stay much in touch
until my mother died one day
and reality brought us back
We spended quality time at last
what it needed was Alzheimer
to bring him back into his heart
instead of being angry and thinking
In his heart a room came free
where we enjoyed being together
and many times we sat in silence
cause words were unnecessary
I told him at his death bed
that he was a terrific guy
his eyes went wide open
couldn't believe that he heard
I said yes dad you heard me well
sorry you never knew it
I know it is now your time
go, the others are waiting
The greatest gift he has given me
was to see him release the last breath
and the peace that came over him
when his soul was freed at last
